Breast Lift

A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is a surgical procedure that aims to lift and reshape sagging breasts. This is done by removing excess skin and tissue, and repositioning the nipples and areolas to a higher position on the breast mound.

Breast sagging or drooping, also known as breast ptosis, can be caused by various factors, such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, aging, and genetics. A breast lift can help restore a more youthful and aesthetically pleasing breast shape and position.

The surgical technique used for breast lift depends on the degree of sagging and the patient's anatomy. The incisions can be made around the areola, vertically down to the breast crease, or horizontally along the breast crease. In some cases, a breast lift may be combined with breast augmentation or reduction to achieve the desired outcome.

Like any surgical procedure, breast lift carries risks and potential complications, such as bleeding, infection, scarring, changes in nipple or breast sensation, and asymmetry. It is important to discuss the risks and benefits of breast lift with a qualified plastic surgeon and choose the most appropriate treatment plan based on individual circumstances.
